Fingerprints

Fingerprints

The Brookfield Police Department will fingerprint  residents of the Town of Brookfield for employment or other reasons, and also people who need to be fingerprinted for employment in the Town of Brookfield.

Although there is no fee to be fingerprinted, certain fees may apply for background checks.  These fees will be paid when you set up your profile on the Flexcheck website (see further information below).

Fingerprinting hours are from 1PM to 3PM, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and an appointment is required.

To make an appointment, please email Dian Eng at fingerprinting@brookfieldct.gov or call 203-740-4110 and include a date or dates, and time range (if applicable) for you to have your fingerprints taken.

Live Scan Fingerprint Process:

We recently switched from ink and paper fingerprints to a live scan system.  As of July 26, 2021, the following requirements apply.

To be able to be printed on the live scan system you will need to obtain an applicant tracking number from the Flexcheck web portal.  To obtain the tracking number you will need to follow these steps:

        1.   ALL APPLICANTS MUST SIGN THE FBI AGENCY PRIVACY FORM BEFORE PROCEEDING

You can download the FBI Privacy Form from the Police page on the Town of Brookfield website under the heading Downloadable Forms or follow the link privacy_act.pdf (brookfieldct.gov).  Forms are also available in the lobby of the Police Department.

Please drop the signed form at the employer, requesting agency or entity and you will receive the service code to enter on the Flexcheck website.

If applying for a Pistol Permit you should contact the Brookfield Police Department.  All other applicants should contact the employer, agency or entity that will receive the results of the background check to obtain their service code.

        2. Set up your pre-enrollment profile and pay any associated fees.

        3. Print the email from Flexcheck with your applicant tracking number.

        4. Bring the email with you so that we can scan the applicant tracking number prior to scanning your fingerprints.

        5. If you are applying for a temporary pistol permit, you must bring the application and necessary documents to your fingerprint appointment. The town fee of $70.00 (cash or check) must also be provided at that time. If these items are not given to the Records Department, your application will not be processed.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE AN APPLICANT TRACKING NUMBER IN HAND TO BE FINGERPRINTED.

All applicants must have a current government issued photo identification to be fingerprinted (i.e. driver’s license, passport, CT issued ID-card).

For additional information please see the User Manual for PreEnrollment for Fingerprint-based Criminal History Check available here or in the lobby of the Police Department.

  2. If you are feeling ill, please reschedule your appointment.
  3. If possible, please come alone.  If child care is an issue, children can be brought into the building.
