Emergency Services Unit: Tactical Team

ESU 2

The Emergency Services Unit (ESU) collaborates with area Police Departments to respond to situations with elevated risk of serious physical injury. Situations include barricaded subjects, fortified buildings, hostage situations, rescues, high risk arrests and other various scenarios where police or civilians are at elevated risk levels. All members of the Team are certified S.W.A.T. Level 1 operators. The initial training of new E.S.U. officers consists of a 40-hour special weapons and tactics school hosted by an outside certified agency or trainer.
