Detective Division

Police Department

The Detective Division of the Brookfield Police Department is staffed by a Detective Sergeant, two Detectives and the Youth Officer. These officers are responsible for the investigations of crimes and criminal activity affecting the Town of Brookfield. Investigations conducted by the Detective Division include:

  • Crimes against persons
  • Crimes against property

As a service to the community, fingerprinting is done for residents and employees of Brookfield businesses (i.e. schools/bus company). There is no fee and the hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm or by special appointment.

The Detective Division also provides resources to the business community with programs on Workplace Violence, Identity Theft, Forgery Prevention and other seminars as needed.

Youth Officer

 

The Brookfield Police Department recognizes the importance of keeping children and youth safe. Effective policing requires an awareness and understanding of their specific needs. The Department collaborates on a regular basis with surrounding jurisdictions to provide the most current information in dealing with juvenile issues.

The Youth Officer has a variety of duties and responsibilities:

  • Screens all juvenile reports.
  • Maintains liaison with Juvenile Court, Superior Court, and Department of Children and Families.
  • Active involvement with the Brookfield schools
  • The Youth Officer maintains contact with Patrol to ensure that all youth related issues are dealt with by the Youth Officer.
