Notice of Referendum

TOWN OF BROOKFIELD
NOTICE OF REFERENDUM

The legal voters of the Town of Brookfield and those entitled to vote therein, are hereby warned and notified that a referendum will be on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, to vote on the following questions:

Shall the Town of Brookfield appropriate the sum of $48,666,148 for the Board of Education portion of the Town Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023?
YES ( ) NO( )

Shall the Town of Brookfield appropriate the sum of $29,080,501 for the Town Government portion of the Town Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023?
YES ( ) NO( )

Non-Binding Advisory Questions:

Is the School Budget in the amount of $48,666,148
TOO LOW_ ADEQUATE_ TOO HIGH .

Is the Town Budget in the amount of $29,080,501
TOO LOW_ ADEQUATE_ TOO HIGH .

District 1 voters shall vote at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church Parish Hall – 138 Candlewood Lake Road.  District 2 voters shall vote at Brookfield High School – 45 Long Meadow Hill Road. 

Property owners, 18 years of age or more and a United States Citizen, with an assessment of not less than $1,000, pursuant to the property tax assessment provisions of Section 7-6 of the Connecticut General Statutes, shall vote at the polling place for the district in which their property is located. Voting Machines shall be used.

Absentee Ballots will be counted at the Brookfield Town Hall.
