TOWN OF BROOKFIELD
BUDGET REFERENDUM

Notice and Warning is hereby given to all duly qualified electors of the Town of Brookfield, Connecticut and any other persons qualified to vote upon the items set forth below that a referendum will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M., to vote on the following questions:

Shall the Town of Brookfield appropriate the sum of $50,384,287   for the Board of Education portion of the Town Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024?   YES ( )  NO( )

Non-Binding Advisory Questions:
      Is the School Operating Budget in the amount of $50,384,287    TOO LOW ( )  ADEQUATE ( )  TOO HIGH ( )

Shall the Town of Brookfield appropriate the sum of $31,929,482 for the Town Government portion of the Town Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024?   YES ( )  NO( )

Non-Binding Advisory Questions:
     Is the Town Operating Budget in the amount of $31,929,482   TOO LOW  ( )  ADEQUATE ( )  TOO HIGH ( )

District 1 voters shall vote at the St. Marguerite Church Hall, 138 Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, Connecticut, and District 2 voters and District 3 voters shall vote at Brookfield High School, 45 Long Meadow Hill Road, Brookfield, Connecticut.  Absentee Ballots will be available from the Town Clerk’s office.  Absentee Ballots will be counted at Brookfield Town Hall.  All persons not electors but qualified to vote pursuant to the property tax assessment provisions of Section 7-6 of the Connecticut General Statutes shall vote at the location corresponding to the District in which such property is located.
