26. Variance

If while planning a project it is determined that the current Zoning regulations cannot be followed, a Zoning Board of Appeals application (for a vairance) may be submitted. This application asks for a hardship of the land. There is no guarantee that the board will approve the variance application, so it is important to first try to find a way to make the project conform to the current regulations.
