Test Kit Delivery Update 12/29/2021

Test Kit Distribution

Greetings –

Brookfield intends to distribute Covid Test Kits to the community, once they are received from the State. We were advised today that the delivery to Connecticut has been delayed and therefore MAY put off our intended distribution until Friday. State officials informed our town leadership tonight that the plane from California has not yet departed for Bradley International. This is a developing situation, largely controlled by the State and we are reacting as best we can with the limited information we have. Our town Distribution Plan will be announced via Code Red, our town website, social and traditional media, and other communications channels once it has been firmly established. I ask for your continued patience and flexibility if we do shift delivery from tomorrow afternoon until Friday. We are still hopeful the shipment could arrive overnight and distribution will still operate tomorrow. We will continue to notify you of any information we receive regarding this shipment as soon as we receive it. Our distribution location will still be at the high school on a first come, first serve basis. Please know there is a limit of 2 kits per household while the supply of 2000 kits allocated last. We will also ask for proof of residency (driver’s license will suffice). Please see below for latest information from Governor Lamont.

Yours in service,

Tara Carr - First Selectman

GOVERNOR LAMONT STATEMENT WITH UPDATE ON SHIPMENT OF COVID-19 AT-HOME RAPID TESTS

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today released the following statement with an update on Connecticut’s anticipated shipment of COVID-19 at-home rapid tests:

“Due to shipping and warehouse delays outside of the State of Connecticut’s control, our state’s anticipated shipment of COVID-19 at-home rapid tests are currently delayed from arriving in Connecticut. My staff and multiple state agencies have spent the past several days working around the clock to accelerate the movement of our tests through what is clearly a shipping and distribution bottleneck on the West Coast amid unprecedented international demand for tests. I want to thank our municipal and emergency management partners who have quickly and efficiently established their methods of distribution of the tests, clearly communicating them to their communities. My administration is in regular communication with city and town leaders, and we will provide updates as we have them in order to distribute the tests as quickly as possible. I thank our staff and leadership at the Department of Administrative Services, the Department of Public Health, the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and the Connecticut National Guard for their incredible work to execute on this test delivery."
