Emergency Funds

The Brookfield Emergency Fund consists of community donations only (no tax dollars) and is used to assist residents who are in a crisis or pre-crisis situation. Those who need a helping hand to overcome a temporary hardship may have an Emergency fund payment sent directly to the vendor for items such as an overdue utility bill, an emergency car repair, or a prescription. The situation must meet our criteria of an emergency and there must be no other resource available.

To make a tax-deductible contribution, send your check payable to Brookfield Social Services:

Salvation Army Fund is primarily used for a variety of non-emergency payments. Usually, the Fund helps with food, clothing or shelter, or some non-emergency bill payments to help residents get back on their feet.

We are grateful for the Salvation Army Funds that provide the majority of our funding for our “Back-to-School” program for needy children. Each student receives a new backpack loaded with school supplies and a Payless Shoe Gift Card.
