VACCINE APPOINTMENT for Priority Group 1b-those aged 75 and older:

We have entered the names submitted to the town of all residents 75 and older into the Federal registration system, VAMS. If you are 75 or older and have not received an email inviting you to register, please check your spam and junk folders for the message. If you still cannot find the email, it is possible your internet or email provider has blocked the email. If you have been unable to find an invite that has been sent to you, please allow the following email addresses in your security filters:

Each person wanting to get vaccinated must have their own unique email address.

As the government updates who is eligible to receive the vaccine, we will have all those who names we have and who qualify sent to the VAMS system. The VAMS system will then send an email asking you to register. We continue to urge all residents to register for Brookfield’s vaccination list if you meet the criteria of being 65 or older or if you are immune compromised. Here is the link to the form on the town website:

If you are having trouble with using a computer please reach out to a close neighbor or family member (even if out of state) to help you with the registration process as that would be the quickest way to obtain an appointment. It is not possible for us to assist all residents.

REMEMBER to CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR A MEDICAL SCREENING QUESTIONARRE FROM VAMS 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT.

CLINICS IN BROOKFIELD

We have held our first clinics to administer the vaccine at the Senior Center yesterday and today. We will have another clinic next Thursday and Friday. We have been given 200 doses of the vaccine for each week and all appointments have been taken. Next week we will set up more clinics so please watch for a CodeRED message for when the clinic is going to be put up on the VAMS system if you want to book an appointment in Brookfield. Appointments go very quickly so it is important to try and make your appointment as soon as it goes live on VAMS. You can make an appointment at any location that is available when you go to make your appointment.

SOME GOOD NEWS

Residents will now be able to recycle glass in our new glass recycling container which arrived today and is located in the gravel parking lot next to the Fire Station on Pocono Road. This container is for recycling glass only and there are instruction signs on the container and further details will be available on the town website shortly.

We again urge everyone to wear masks, limit your contact with others, socially distance and go out only when absolutely necessary.
