Useful information for Brookfield residents

Yard Refuse Center
Leaves, brush and yard waste may be disposed of at the Brookfield Residential Yard Refuse Center.
GRASS CLIPPINGS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
The Refuse Center is located between the Town Hall and Fire House on Pocono Road
Open Saturdays ONLY from 8:30am-4:00pm from April-December.
A No-Fee permit is required & can be obtained at the Public Works office in Town Hall or directly at the site on Saturdays.

Batteries & Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
Home Depot has free in-store recycling of CFLs. Bulbs must be unbroken and in plastic bags. Bins are located at the front of the store. Nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) rechargeable batteries should be recycled through the maufacturers take back program or one of many participating retailers such as Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy and Verizon Wireless.

Curbside Recycling
Provided by private waste disposal haulers in coordination with their regular trash collection. Check with your individual hauler for specific requirements.
