TOWN OF BROOKFIELD

 

WARNING:  NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

 

The legal voters of the Town of Brookfield are hereby warned and notified to meet in Meeting Room 133 at the Brookfield Town Hall, 100 Pocono Road, Brookfield, Connecticut on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. for the following purposes, to wit:

 

1.         To consider and act upon a revised Resolution (a) to appropriate $184,000 for the planning, design and construction of a water main extension from Silvermine Road extending southerly down Pocono Road to the Brookfield Fire House and Municipal Complex; (b) to authorize the First Selectman, Treasurer and other proper offices of the Town to (i) use State grants to defray said appropriation, the proceeds of which grants shall be used to pay project costs; (ii) to authorize the Town to levy benefit assessments in conjunction with the project in accordance with Sections 7-137c to 7-145 of the General Statutes and Ordinances of the Town, with any revenue received from benefit assessments to be applied to payment of project costs and (iii) to take all other action which is necessary or desirable to complete said water main extension and to accomplish the above named purposes.

 

2.         To consider and act upon a Resolution (a) to appropriate $75,000 from the Capital and Non Recurring Fund for engineering for the proposed road improvements, Town recreational facilities and construction of the Still River Greenway; and (b) to do any and all things which may be legally necessary or appropriate to accomplish the above named purposes.

 

Copies of said Resolution are on file and available for public inspection at the Office of the Brookfield Town Clerk.
