Guidelines for Gifts to Employees/Officers in accordance with the Brookfield Ethics Ordinance:
If instructors are paid with town funds, gifts are limited to a value of less than $15 per event for a total of $50 annually from the same source . The definition of Officer/Employee states that it is any person hired by the town or its agencies or anyone receiving wages or salaries from the Town. If the event is a holiday gift, the $50 annual limit cannot be used and the gift to an instructor would have to be less than $15 from any one source.
