The Brookfield Planning Commission adopted the 2015 Plan of Conservation and Development ("POCD") on June 18, 2015 with an effective date of July 2, 2015.
The Planning Commission has amended the POCD to include the Transportation Plan for Lower Route 202 prepared for the Western Connecticut Council of Governments dated September, 2015 on the list of Supporting Documents. The list of Selectmen has been updated to reflect election results from November, 2015. The amendments were presented to the Board of Selectmen and they were approved unanimously at their December 7, 2015 meeting. The amendments were also presented the Western Connecticut Council on Governments who also approved the amendments. A Public Hearing on Adoption was held on March 3, 2016. The amendments were approved and the amended POCD was adopted effective March 17, 2016. Copies of the amended POCD and the Transportation Plan are available on the

The Planning Commission will formulate a town wide plan of development; review and approve/disapprove all subdivisions, whether residential, commercial or industrial. The Commission has responsibility for long range capital improvements.
